A Local Family’s Generosity Makes It Possible

The only reason Napa Humane is able to provide spay/neuter surgeries at less than cost is because of private donations and grants. A generous recent grant from The David and Jane Gotelli Family Fund and Napa Valley Community Foundation enabled us to add four “Caturdays” of urgent weekend spay/neuter surgeries to help combat kitten season this year. Without this funding, we simply couldn’t afford the staff and supplies needed to stay open six days a week.
David and Jane Gotelli were fervent Napa animal lovers who saved diligently, kept a low profile, and died within a day of each other in 2017, at the age of 87. The couple donated their real estate holdings to the Napa Valley Community Foundation with directions to fund annual grants to organizations dedicated to the health, welfare, humane treatment and adoption and care of small animals.
The Napa Valley Register included a nice article about the first annual grant from the Gotelli Fund to Napa Humane and six other local nonprofits, and the impact these gifts are going to have on more than 10,000 Napa County companion animals.
We are profoundly grateful to the Gotellis and to the Napa Valley Community Foundation for selecting Napa Humane as a recipient. Thank you so much for supporting strategic prevention, and making such a powerful impact on our community!
