Does your dog have great manners at home but forget everything the moment you head out for a walk? New sights, sounds, smells, and distractions can be challenging—for both dogs and their people.

Walking Buddies is a trainer-guided group walk designed to help you and your dog practice real-world walking skills in a supportive environment. Join one of Napa Humane’s professional trainers as you explore different parks throughout Napa County while receiving real-time coaching to help build confidence, strengthen your bond, and reinforce polite walking skills.

Whether you’re looking to improve your dog’s manners in new environments or simply want extra guidance without the cost of a private training session, Walking Buddies offers a fun and supportive way to practice together.

Please note: Walking Buddies is intended for dogs who are comfortable around other dogs and people. It is not designed for dogs with leash reactivity. All dogs must remain on leash throughout the session.

In the event of extreme weather, participants will be notified of a new location or rescheduled date.

Yappy Hour Benefiting Napa Humane

Starting August 13, 1331 is hosting a monthly Yappy Hour fundraiser in support of Napa Humane on the second Thursday of every month!

Bring your pup and enjoy a dog-friendly Happy Hour while supporting local pets. During each Yappy Hour, $2 from every featured cocktail sold will be donated to Napa Humane.

No RSVP is necessary—simply stop by 1331 with your furry friend (or come solo!), enjoy a featured cocktail, and support Napa Humane’s work helping pets and the people who love them throughout Napa County.

Napa Humane Pet Photo Contest

Your pet could be the next star of the 2027 Napa Humane Pet Calendar!

Napa Humane’s annual Pet Photo Contest is back! Enter your favorite photo of your dog, cat, or rabbit, rally friends and family to vote, and help support Napa Humane’s Power of Prevention.

The overall top vote-getter will earn the coveted calendar cover, while the Top 5 Dogs, Top 5 Cats, and Top 2 Rabbits will each receive a featured month. Plus, every pet entered will appear in the calendar collage!

🧡 New this year: Dogs entered in the contest will also have the opportunity to be considered for the Maya Award, created in partnership with DogTrekker to celebrate dogs who bring joy and connection to their communities.

Every entry and every vote helps Napa Humane keep local pets healthy, happy, and in loving homes.

Contest runs September 1–30. Voting closes at 11:59 p.m. on September 30.
